When it really counts: Reliable fault reports!
Today, there is an abundance of error messages from digitally controlled or monitored processes. They appear in log files, via email, text message, or in a messaging system. But when it really counts, much more is needed. The Pro Series controllers already have everything you need built right in:
- Fault Reports as Voice Messages (via 2G and 4G cellular networks)
- Active Acknowledgment (DTMF)
- Formation of Alarm Chains
- Audit-proof loggingof all alarms and responses
- Emergency power capability thanks to a built-in Li-ion battery
- Signaling Power Outages
- Suitable as an independent second alarm path
- Standalone —works without a central unit
- Optional service: Remote monitoring of the fault indicator
With the Pro Series controllers, you can effectively ensure that error messages are not only sent but also noticed by the appropriate staff member.
A fault detector for all applications and industries
The fault indicator, which is available as a standard application for Pro Controllers, is designed for universal use and is successfully employed in many industries and applications.
These include, for example:
- industrial processes
- in particular, times when there are no employees on site
- Building Management (e.g., burst pipes)
- Detection of Power Outages
- Environmental Monitoring
- Permanently unoccupied properties
- alternative reporting channel
- …
Thanks to the large number of projects we’ve completed, the Pro Störmelder is sure to meet the specific requirements of your application. Contact us and put us to the test!
Reporting Issues Made Easy
The Pro Controllers make it easy to implement professional error-handling workflows in your application, even if your requirements are demanding:
- The fault indicator can be configured easily and with a high degree of flexibility
- A Variety of Reporting Sources
- digital signal inputs
- Analog input signals (threshold values)
- Messages via ModBus TCP/RTU (Monitoring Registers)
- Various Reporting Channels
- Text Message
- Voice (with DTMF confirmation)
- Alarm Chains
- Custom Programming of Scenarios
- Support from our experts in planning and implementing incident response procedures.
- Commercially attractive: No license fees per device.

Case Study:
Monitoring of Glass Melting Furnaces
Problem definition:
Smelting furnaces and blast furnaces must never be allowed to cool down while still full, as this would require an extremely time-consuming and costly cleaning and restart procedure. Therefore, even during operational breaks when no personnel are on site, the temperature of the furnaces must be monitored and reported if necessary. This applies in particular to any power outages.
Solution approach:
The Pro Controller and fault indicator use sensors to monitor all key process parameters, including the power supply. Alarm chains stored in the fault indicator notify the on-call staff via voice call; receipt of the message must be acknowledged via DTMF. If no acknowledgment is received, the alarm chain continues, escalating as necessary all the way up to the CEO.
The fault detector itself is periodically checked for proper operation via a cloud service provided by M2M Control.
Result:
Since the smelting furnaces have been under constant monitoring, there have been no incidents of damage caused by furnace failures. Thanks to timely alerts, action was taken in several cases before serious damage could occur. In one instance, the alarm chain (when the target temperature was not reached) “saved the furnace.”
