The CX320 combines many functions in one device, from the integrated 4G / LTE modem to a programmable controller (PLC) with graphic display and programmable buttons as a user interface to a professional data logger and fault indicator . Powerful in communication thanks to numerous interfaces and protocols and almost unlimited expandable, it is the ideal device for demanding M2M and IoT applications.

Future-proof cellular communication

The CX320 has a multiband LTE Cat. 4 modem via a modern and future-proof cellular connection, because LTE will represent the nationwide backbone of cellular communication in the long term. Automatic fallback to UMTS / EDGE / GPRS ensures optimal network availability. Voice with IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and DTMF as well as SMS round off the profile. Thanks to the support of a large number of frequency bands, the CX320 can be used worldwide .

Performance and security for edge computing

The CX320 is based on a hardened Linux architecture with IEC 61131-3 runtime environment . The Arm®Cortex®– A7 processor with floating point support, DSP functions and cryptography acceleration offers more than enough performance for your applications with edge computing. TLS / SSL support for all important TCP-based protocols (e.g. MQTT, SMTP, TCP / IP sockets) with complete certificate management effectively protects your communication, e.g. with a cloud.

I/O interfaces for all needs

The CX320 has 8 digital inputs (4 of which can be configured as S0), 8 digital solid state outputs (36V / 1.5A) and 4 flexibly configurable analog inputs as well as 2 outputs. The interface equipment is completely transparently expandable via Modbus modules for the user software and can be extended almost indefinitely.

Versatile communication

In addition to the cellular connection, the CX320 has a large number of interfaces: RS-232, RS-485 , 1-Wire and USB . For easy use of the interfaces, the development environment provides support for a variety of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, MQTT, 1-Wire, M-Bus, Modbus (Master and Slave).

M-Bus and wireless M-Bus

The CX320 has an internal M-Bus level converter for 20 M-Bus loads . Furthermore, the CX320 can optionally be expanded with an (internal) wireless M-Bus radio. This makes the CX320 a very powerful energy data logger. Thanks to the free programmability, the most varied of energy management requirements can be implemented very flexibly.
