The CX361 combines many functions in one device, from an integrated 4G/LTE modem to a programmable controller (PLC) with touch display as operating interface to a professional data logger and fault indicator. Highly communicative thanks to numerous interfaces and protocols and almost unlimited expandability, it is the ideal device for demanding M2M and IoT applications, especially for energy data acquisition via wireless M-Bus.

Energy data acquisition with wireless M-Bus

The CX361 is equipped with a wireless M-Bus radio module for up to 1000m range (ISM band) and can thus easily query smart meters, but general sensor networks are also possible. High-level support in the IDE with full encryption (AES-128) enables easy and secure integration.

Future-proof mobile connectivity

With a multiband LTE Cat. 4 modem, the CX361 has a modern and future-proof mobile radio connection, because LTE will represent the area-wide backbone of mobile communication in the long term. Automatic fallback to UMTS / EDGE / GPRS ensures optimal network availability. Voice with IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and DTMF as well as SMS are completing the profile. Thanks to the support of a variety of frequency bands, the CX360 can be usedworldwide.

Performance and security for edge computing

The CX361 is based on a hardened Linux architecture with IEC 61131-3 runtime environment. The Arm® Cortex®– A5 processor with floating point support, DSP functions and cryptographic acceleration offers more than enough power for your edge computing applications. TLS/SSL support for all important TCP based protocols (e.g. MQTT, SMTP, TCP/IP Sockets) with complete certificate management effectively protects your communication, e.g. with a cloud.

I/O interfaces for all needs

The CX361 has 8 digital inputs (4 of which can be configured as S0), 8 digital solid state outputs (36V / 1.5A), 4 flexibly configurable analogue inputs and outputs each. The interface equipment is completely transparently expandable via Modbus modules for the user software and can be extended almost indefinitely.

Versatile communication

In addition to the cellular connection, the CX361 has a wide range of interfaces: 100 Base-T Ethernet, CAN-2.0, RS-232, RS-485, 1-Wire, WLAN, Bluetooth LE und USB. For easy use of the interfaces, the development environment provides support for a variety of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, MQTT, 1-Wire, M-Bus, Modbus (Master and Slave).
