LWS-303

Leaf wetness and temperature sensor with 4-20mA interface

The leaf wetness sensor LWS-303 precisely determines the degree of moisture of a leaf surface by measuring the dielectric constant and transmits the measured values via a 4..20mA interface.

The leaf wetness sensor LWS-303 is used to observe and measure leaf wetness. The qualitative wetting of the leaves by precipitation or dew is measured. For this purpose, the sensor replicates the natural properties of a leaf so that the situation on the leaf surface is accurately reproduced. By measuring the change in the dielectric constant of the leaf surface, dew due to fog and water vapor as well as ice can also be measured. Furthermore, the temperature of the simulated leaf is measured.

Leaf wetness or leaf wetting is an agrometeorological measured value that is particularly important for the detection and prognosis of plant diseases. Leaf wetness sensors find application in field (wheat, potatoes), fruit and vine cultivation.
